MANINI COOK ISLANDS CANOE

$179.00

The Cook Islands consist of 15 islands, with Raratonga being the main island. The Cook Islands group is part of Polynesia.

The Cook Islands outrigger canoes were the craft for fishing and coastal traffic; they were mostly one- and two-man dugouts.

One structural particularity of the Cook Island canoe, a testament to the powerful influence the Marquesan exerted on canoe building, is the elevated stern projection and its cute decoration.

Koa wood is used for the model's hull. Front and back cover are carved using the beautiful silver oak wood cut from Francis’s property .

This 4.5-inch masterpiece represents Polynesian art and culture and comes with a four-sided acrylic showcase to ensure its safe delivery to you. The showcase is further enhanced with a beautiful sleeve in the signature color of ART OF POLYNESIA™.
